Interested in volunteering at Sisters Folk Festival? Here's how:
We've got several great volunteering opportunities throughout the year. The main ones are:

The Sisters Folk Festival; a 3-day music festival at multiple venues around town, the weekend after Labor Day every year (about 130 volunteers).

My Own Two Hands; a community arts event in and for the Community of Sisters, Oregon (about 50 volunteers).

Winter Concert Series; three concerts in the winter months to remind us all that life goes on, even when we're freezing our butts off (around 10 volunteers for each show).

Volunteering for the Sisters Folk Festival
The Sisters Folk Festival is our premier event of the year. Positions range from hustling gear around to the various venues to running cash registers to door security.
Volunteers who donate their time for two or more four-hour shifts will receive an All Events Pass (an $85 value) for themselves for the weekend.
Returning volunteers get first dibs at all positions. This year our Volunteer Coordinator was Ann Richardson, of Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show fame, and she did an excellent job of filling all the positions and orchestrating all the volunteers. Some "Super Volunteer" positions are available, let us know if you'd like to take on more responsibility, and we'll see if there's a fit. Let us know any areas of expertise you have. If you are proficient with credit card machines and cash registers, we want to know. Let us know also if you can handle heavy lifting or standing for long periods of time. We can usually find positions that accommodate all kinds of situations. If you have an alcohol server's license, please mention it in your email or phone call. As a volunteer, you will be greeting and dealing with the public, a task which requires many warm smiles and kind words (does this fit your personality?). In general, you will make sure each Festival Attendee has a pass or ticket, check backpacks for items not allowed, and other positions as assigned.

Remember, volunteers represent the Sisters Folk Festival. If remaining sober and polite during your shifts does not interest you, volunteering is not for you. If greeting and helping Festival Attendees does seem like something you want to do, then volunteering is for you. We want friendly, smiling folks only, thank you! Thank you for your interest and willingness to participate in the Sisters Folk Festival. If you have any questions or would like to sign up to volunteer, please contact the Festival office at 541.549.4979 or via email at volunteers@sistersfolkfestival.org
