| We’re always looking for a few good people! |
The heart and soul of Sisters Folk Festival is the dedicated corps of volunteers who make everything we do possible. Because of the hundreds of willing people who check badges, set up and tear down, staff the various tents and tables at all our events, help in the office, "wrangle" artists, arrange displays, make deliveries and cheerfully do everything they are asked, we are able to offer the wonderful array of events we do each year.
If you enjoy meeting and greeting people, are flexible, and have a good attitude, then we would love to have you join us in our various endeavors. We have several great volunteering opportunities throughout the year, the main ones being:
THE SISTERS FOLK FESTIVAL: a 3-day music festival at multiple venues around town, the weekend after Labor Day every year (about 150 volunteers).
MY OWN TWO HANDS: a community arts benefit evening (dinner and auction) with funds going to the Americana Project in our local Sisters schools (about 50 volunteers).
THE WINTER CONCERT SERIES: three concerts in the winter months featuring nationally recognized artists, to warm us up as it freezes outside (about 10 volunteers for each show). |

| Volunteering
for the Sisters Folk Festival |
The Sisters
Folk Festival is our premier event of the year. Positions range from
hustling gear around to the various venues to running cash registers
to door security.
|
Our premier event of the year requires a variety of abilities and talents. Positions range from hustling gear to cashiering to bartending to door security and more. Volunteers who donate their time for two 4-5 hour shifts will receive an All-Events Pass ($95 value) for themselves for the weekend. Returning volunteers have first choice for all positions.
Our “Super Volunteers” are those key people who take on more responsibility for a particular area and are usually people who have experience volunteering for us. Please inform us of any areas of expertise/experience you have, i.e. credit card machines and cash registers. Can you handle heavy lifting or standing for long periods of time? If you have an alcohol server’s license, please let us know.
As a volunteer you are greeting and dealing with the public. Our number one goal is that all of our patrons have a positive experience here in Sisters and your smile and polite helpfulness are a big part of that experience. Essentially, you will make sure each Festival attendee has a pass or ticket, check backpacks for items not allowed, sell merchandise and CDs, staff various tables and booths, help with setup/teardown, or perform other tasks as assigned.
Thank you for your interest and willingness to participate in the Sisters Folk Festival. If you have any questions or would like to sign up to volunteer, please contact the Festival office at 541.549.4979 or via email at volunteers@sistersfolkfestival.org. Please include your full name, mailing address, phone number(s), email address, and areas of interest or experience. |
